Others want something warmer and more layered — natural textures, soft lighting, and materials that feel lived in, not just looked at.
Modern doesn’t have to mean cold or cutting-edge. You might want a refined, elegant space with luxe finishes and statement lighting, or something more relaxed and Scandinavian-inspired — bright, simple, and full of warmth. That’s the beauty of modern kitchens: they’re open to interpretation.
Whatever your style, we’ll help you shape it to suit the way you live — bringing together form, function and flow in a way that feels completely your own.

From Kitchen to Custom Joinery—One Beautiful, Modern Story
Design that flows—from your kitchen to your bathroom, and every custom detail in between.
When we design a modern kitchen, we’re not just thinking about that one room—we’re laying the foundation for the entire home.
Think about it. The materials you choose, the lines you love, the feeling you want when you walk in—it all starts in the kitchen, but it doesn’t have to end there. That same aesthetic can carry through to your bathroom vanity, your laundry joinery, even custom pieces like entertainment units and home offices.
It might be a timbergrain finish that runs from your kitchen to your media wall. A matte black detail that reappears in your bathroom tapware. Or a custom floating vanity that echoes your kitchen’s soft curves or minimalist feel. These connections don’t just look beautiful—they make your home feel calm, intentional and cohesive.
Modern design is about more than simplicity. It’s about Precision. Purpose. Flow. And when each space is designed to complement the next, your home becomes more than a collection of rooms—it becomes a complete, connected experience.
So if you’re planning a kitchen renovation, it’s worth thinking about how the rest of your home fits in. We can help you design it all—your kitchen, your bathroom, your laundry, and the custom joinery in between.
Let’s bring it all together—start with the kitchen, and we’ll help the rest fall into place.

See Your Modern Kitchen in 3D — Before We Build a Thing
Explore lighting, layout, and every clean line—in motion and in context.
Modern kitchens are all about precision. Seamless cabinetry. Integrated appliances. Lighting that’s not just functional but architectural. And when you’re designing something this refined, it helps to see it before it’s built.
That’s where our 3D walkthrough service comes in. We’ll bring your modern kitchen to life on screen—so you can explore the space from every angle, walk through the flow, and understand how each material and line interacts in real time.
You’ll see how that matte finish catches the light across the day. How your pendant lights float above a minimalist island bench. How handleless cabinetry runs wall to wall without interruption. It’s not just a visual—it’s a fully guided preview of how your modern kitchen will feel once complete.
This kind of detail matters. A flat plan can only take you so far. But in 3D, you’ll see how your cabinetry lines up with feature walls, how shadow lines and surfaces play together, and whether that sleek stone really works with your chosen tones.
So if you’re planning a modern kitchen renovation, this is your chance to fine-tune every element before a single tile is laid. We’ll turn your ideas into a realistic 3D experience—so you can move through your future kitchen with confidence, clarity, and excitement.
Curious what your modern kitchen could look like in motion? Ask us about our 3D design walkthroughs—because when everything is this considered, you’ll want to see it all come together.
Your Modern Kitchen Design Questions
A modern kitchen is all about clean lines, simplicity, and smart function. You’ll often see flat-panel cabinetry, handleless doors, integrated appliances and a strong sense of symmetry or flow. The colours tend to be neutral or tonal — whites, greys, soft woodgrains, and matte black are popular — with a focus on smooth textures and uncluttered surfaces.
But “modern” doesn’t have to mean cold or clinical. At Kellyville Kitchens, we personalise each design to suit your home and lifestyle — whether that means a more minimal look, or something layered with warmth and texture.
Definitely — and in fact, that’s something many of our clients ask for. While modern kitchens are known for their simplicity, they don’t have to feel sterile. We often soften the look with timber accents, warm lighting, natural stone or textured finishes that create a sense of comfort and balance.
Design is about more than just aesthetics — it’s about how a space makes you feel. With the right material choices and lighting plan, we can create a modern kitchen that’s sleek, practical and still feels like home.
The best materials will depend on how you use your kitchen, but generally we look for finishes that are both durable and visually clean. Popular choices include soft matte cabinetry, engineered stone or porcelain benchtops, integrated sinks, and seamless splashbacks like glass or slab stone.
We also recommend push-to-open or finger-pull cabinetry, and low-profile handles if you’re going for a look that’s modern but not ultra-minimal. All finishes are selected with your lifestyle and aesthetic in mind — so you never have to compromise on beauty or function.
Absolutely. In fact, many of our modern kitchen clients are families looking for a space that’s easy to use, easy to clean, and tailored to their daily routine. We design with functionality at the core — open layouts, durable surfaces, ample storage, and smart zoning to keep everything running smoothly.
Whether it’s a breakfast bar for the kids, hidden charging stations, or a walk-in pantry to help keep things organised, we’ll make sure your kitchen works as hard as you do — without sacrificing style.
Yes — and they’re one of the most exciting parts of the journey. Our 3D design videos allow you to see your new kitchen before it’s built. You’ll walk through the space, explore the layout, and get a feel for how your cabinetry, benchtops and lighting all come together.
It’s especially helpful with modern kitchens, where flow, proportion and material combinations play such an important role. You’ll know exactly what to expect — and feel confident before any work begins.
Every kitchen we build is completely custom — there are no cookie-cutter templates. From layout and cabinetry to benchtops, lighting, and hardware, every detail is tailored to your needs and preferences. That means your kitchen won’t just look modern — it will function perfectly for your space.
Whether you’re after a clean, minimalist aesthetic, a Scandinavian-inspired feel, or something more luxe and dramatic, we’ll guide you through the entire process and help shape a design that’s uniquely yours.
Of course — that’s exactly what we’re here for. During your consultation, we’ll take the time to understand your lifestyle, design preferences, and goals for the space. Some clients come in with a clear idea, while others just know they want something “modern but warm” or “clean but not clinical.”
We’ll show you examples, walk you through finishes and styles, and help you find the right direction — whether that’s minimalist, warm contemporary, modern luxe, or a blend that’s completely your own.
